Mark began his working career after high school by serving six and a half years as a radio maintenance technician in the United States Air Force. Following that he spent 3 years as a technical support person and supervisor for a mobility company.

His career then took him to an electrical apprenticeship with General Motors (GM). After his apprenticeship, most of his career with GM was in the predictive field as a thermographer, motor circuit analyst and trainer of thermography and electrical safety. He was a member of the GM Infrared Standards Committee from 2006 to 2018 as a Level III thermographer, and the electrical safety subject matter expert at his GM facility from 2010 to 2018. Mark had presentations at motor and infrared conferences in the mid 2000’s and co-developed and instructed Infrared Level I classes for GM from 2015-2018, additionally from 2014-2018 he was the CMMS administrator for his GM facility.

Mark was an adjunct technical instructor for Delta College, (a local community college in Michigan where he has lived most of his life, excluding his military time) from 2007 to 2017. He is a Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP) through NFPA, and holds a Michigan State Journeyman’s Electrical License.

In early 2018 he retired from General Motors to take a position with AVO Training Institute as an infrared and electrical safety instructor.  Nearly eight years later he made his way to The Snell Group to get back to his infrared and motor testing roots.

Marks wife very often travels with him while he trains (a deal made prior to retirement from GM). And, when he and wife have time off, they often spend it with their four adult children, their spouses and seven grandchildren (not always all at once, but occasionally), also often travelling.
